Section Playoffs: Varsity 1-2 (OT) Maple Grove. The Orioles were home against cross town rival Maple Grove. Both teams wanted this win badly and were even through regulation time and the two 10 minute overtime periods. Maple Grove won the game when their goalie made a save on the 9th penalty kick. The Orioles played a great game and came up just short. Congratulations and good luck to Maple Grove in the sectional finals.
Scorers: Gus Wiagbe (Ahmad Bah)

October 13, 2009
Section Playoffs: Varsity 2-1 Irondale. The Orioles were home in a rematch with Irondale after facing them 3 days earlier. Matt Bennett made some key saves in the first 10 minutes to keep the Orioles in the game, but Irondale scored an early goal to go up 1-0. Osseo evened the score near the end of the first half when Peter Hager crossed the ball to Luc Norman who placed a header perfectly to the far post. Both teams played an intense second half with the defense and goaltenders stepping up to stop ongoing attacks. As the fans were preparing for an overtime period, the Orioles advanced the ball quickly and Ahmad Bah sent a shot from 30 yards looping over the goaltender and in to the net to give the Orioles the victory with 5 seconds remaining in the game.
Scorers: Luc Norman (Peter Hager), Ahmad Bah

October 10, 2009
Varsity 3-1 Irondale. Away game. A very windy day and the Orioles had the wind in their face in the first half. Irondale scored early to take a 1-0 lead. Osseo evened the score on a goal by Luc Norman near the end of the first half. Matt Bennett and the Osseo defense did a good job keeping the ball out of the net in the first half. The Orioles controlled the ball most of the second half and the defense again cleaned up any scoring opportunities when Irondale was on the attack. Luc scored another goal and Hussein iced the game for the Orioles with a goal late in the second half.
Scorers: Luc Norman (2), Hussein Abdulrazaq

October 8, 2009
Varsity 6-0 Park Center. Away game. The Orioles took advantage of several breakdowns by Park Center to jump out to an early lead. Outside defenders Aaron Peterson and Luke Van Geest shut down several attacks from Park Center early and the defense made it a quiet night for the goalie. Orioles were controlling the middle and both ends of the field.

Ahmad Bah started the attack and JJ Bennett finished it off with assist from Lucas Norman. The Cardinals then scored three unanswered goals. After half-time, Da Orioles came on strong and evened up the scores from Casey Cardille and Taylor Tuominen goals. Exciting game with many chances to put the game away for good.

Varsity 3-1 Rogers. Home game. Successfully winning the first game on new turf. Da Orioles started a little sloppy and let a few loose shots get by but Matt Bennett saved them all (good for us). Once settled down and get into their game, Da Orioles pretty much controlled and dominated the midfield plays, creating chances and finally Sang Pham scored at close range on a combination play with Ahmad Bah at 26th-min mark. At 37th-min mark Abdullah Bah score on another combination play with Derrick Kennedy. Half-time up 2-0. Ahmad and Sang continued dominating the midfield game to spring attacks. At 15th-min mark, Derrick received ball on right and ripped a hard and low shot across the 6th to find Lucas Norman on full stretch run and he put it away in the back of the net. So far so good but plenty of work still needed to be done.
Scorers: Sang Pham (Ahmad Bah), Abdallah Bah (Derrick Kennedy), Lucas Norman (Derrick Kennedy).
